Gear Up For The Hunt!

 * Hunting Boots -- A good, comfortable pair of boots can be a hunter's best friend.  But remember, a new    pair can be your worst enemy.  To avoid blisters, be sure to have boots broken in before the hunt.

* Layers --- Depending on the time of year for your hunt, temperatures can vary from 8 to 80-plus degrees. Conditions range from snow to bright prairie sunny days. We strongly recommend coming prepared for any combination. Starting with the outer-most layer, be sure to bring:

*Wind/Rain layer a comfortable, waterproof hunting jacket will help keep you warm and dry.

*  Warm layer if your jacket doesn’t include insulation, we recommend a fleece jacket or wool sweater.

 *Wicking layer to keep you comfortable throughout all temperatures, we suggest a thin, synthetic shirt as your first layer. There are plenty of brands and types available including polypropylene and silk.

* Brush Pants --- Nylon, canvas or leather fronted pants will help to protect against ground cover when breaking through dense brush.

* Protective Gear --- Blaze orange is required for all hunters. We have blaze orange caps and vests for purchase at our online store and in the sports shop at the lodge. We do encourage you to bring:

* Blaze orange accessories such as a vest or orange outer layer

                       * Eye protection

* Ear protection

* Shotgun --- We have on hand 12-gauge, 20-gauge, and 16-gauge, ammunition. Call well in advance if you are bringing an alternate gauge shotgun.

* Camera --- Remember extra batteries or charger.

* Laptop Computer --- We leave this up to our clients. We do have wireless internet in the lodge.
